Cymone recycling her houshold batteries

Cllr Cymone De-Lara Bond was recently asked by a local resident if household batteries were able to be recycled. The answer is "Yes!" Cymone said, "At Princes Drive, the container for household and mobile phone batteries is a green cylindrically shaped unit which is located in the main recycling area opposite the weighbridge office. It is near the large "Waste Batteries" sign (for car batteries) but has its own smaller sign stating "Household Batteries. We have asked the District Council if these items could be included in the red box collections.

It is important to try and dispose of batteries separate from our normal household waste as they often contain dangerous and poisonous material.
