The River Leam is not looking its best at the moment. Since the floods the number of filthy plastic bags and other litter hanging from trees has become a real eyesore.
The Liberal Democrat controlled Leamington Town Council is determined that something should be done. Cllr Bill Gifford pointed out "The river goes through our parks so this is mainly the responsibility of Warwick District Council. But below the water line it is the responsibility of the Environment Agency."
"The Town Council is keen to see action and we have put some money in the budget for next year to help get the river cleaned." Please contact Bill Gifford if you can help in any way on 338776 or bill.gifford@warwickdc.gov.uk.
