Warwick District Council are consulting on a new local plan, following the Government's abandonment of the Regional Spatial Strategy and it's associated housing numbers. Local Councils can now decide their own levels of growth based upon clearly identified local needs.
The first stage of developing the new plan, that will take the District through to 2028, is to ask local people for their views on the key issues that they want to see addressed over the 15 year life of the plan and secondly, how much new development the Council should be planning for! The initial consultation will last for 4 months from March until mid/end of June.
Councillor Alan Boad Lib Dem Leader on the District Council said, "It is very important for local people to
get involved with this important 'Issues and Options' stage in developing the master plan. It is a real opportunity to identify and address the needs of every road in the District. It needs to include issues such as new employment opportunities, additional housing, recreation, flooding, the type of shopping and the transport
infrastructure.
