Kenilworth Road Closure Chaos

Kenilworth Road Closure

The closure of Kenilworth Road to enable extensive work on the gas network between Leamington and Kenilworth is causing considerable problems for Leamington residents and for Town Centre traders.

The National Grid Gas Alliance have been ordered to open the road for traffic before 30th November, but the works did fall 5 weeks behind schedule earlier in the year.

Royal Leamington Spa Town Councillors are meeting with Kenilworth Town Council to make sure the contractors realise the vital importance of this road to both towns.

Cllr Bill Gifford said, "The timing could hardly be worse in the run-up to Christmas after the Town shops have had a tough year because of the credit crunch."
